2002 Group Concludes its Phase 3 of Ananda Manudam by donating to Welimada Base Hospital

The Base Hospital of Welimada, which provides healthcare services to over 200,000 population, was recently converted to a Covid-19 treatment center. Due to the lack of funds to fulfill its needs and its locality which is over 200km away from the capital where the majority of donations come from, the hospital has been finding it difficult to source certain equipment for their operations.

Old Anandians’ Class of 2002, identifying this requirement, has come forward and donated two steel cupboards, two dining tables with chairs, a washing machine and communication equipment with contributions of the group members.

These items were handed over to the Chief Medical Officer of Welimada Base Hospital on 7th July 2021 by representatives of the Executive Committee of Old Anandians’ Class of 2002. This was the 3rd phase of අනඳ මනුදම් humanitarian service of the 2002 OBA group, recognizing the need of the hour of the health sector of the country.
