20 May War Heroes Tribute Ceremony – Ranaviru Upahara 2025
Ananda Collage Old Boys` Association (ACOBA) in collaboration with Old Anandians 90 Group organized the War Heroes Tribute Ceremony – Ranaviru Upahara 2025 and was held on Monday 19th May 2025 at the Ranaviru Monument of Ananda College Colombo. The ceremony commenced at 7.30am.
The event was graced by Major General M. S. Devapriya of Sri Lanka Army, Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage of Sri Lanka Navy, Air Vice Marshal Thushara Sirimanna of Sri Lanka Air Force & Senior DIG Ajith Rohan of Sri Lanka Police as Honorary Guests while the Executive President of ACOBA Samitha Seneviratne & Ananda Alumni, the Principal Lal Dissanayake, the Academic Staff along with students of Ananda College and Distinguished Invitees joined to pay their tribute to the brave combatants of the armed forces, Sri Lanka Police and Civil Security Department who laid down their lives in the defence of the nation.
The ceremonial proceedings included wreath-laying, special tributes, and military honours to express the deepest gratitude and unwavering respect for those who selflessly served to protect the country’s sovereignty and national security.
