Ananda College New Principal meets ACOBA

An experienced educationist, Mr. Lal Dissanayake assumed duties as the new Principal of Ananda College today (25th January 2022) morning at the school premises.

As a foremost activity, the premier conducted his first official meeting with Ananda College Old Boys’ Association (ACOBA) today where representatives from the Management Committee (MC) of ACOBA and some Past Presidents participated.

At this productive discussion, the Executive President of ACOBA Mr. Bimal Wijayasinghe described how the vision of ACOBA is aligned with the future of the School and upcoming activities. In his insightful speech, Mr. Dissanayake emphasized the importance of the School’s relationship with the Old Boys’ Association and pledged his full support for OBA initiatives towards the betterment of Mother Ananda.

ACOBA presented the Ananda 125th Jubilee Silver Coin and Anandaya Magazine, which contains the prestigious history of the School, as a token of respect to the newly appointed Principal of Ananda College. Further, the Executive President of ACOBA formally handed over the keys of the motor car provided by the Old Boys’ Association to the Principal convening him to carry out his duties successfully.

Mr. Lal Dissanayake, served as an Assistant Principal of Ananda College in 2006-2008, Acting Principal of Ananda College in 2008-2009 and Western Province Additional Director for Education, prior to his newest appointment. Further, he was a former Principal of Bandaranayake College, Gampaha and a Deputy Principal of D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo.
