10 Jul Old Anandians’ 83 Group provides essentials to Marawila Base Hospital
Fulfilling the major requirements of Marawila Base Hospital, Old Anandians’ 83 Group came forward to donate 30 numbers of complete hospital beds with mattresses, pillows and bed sheets and steel furniture for doctors’ workstations and medical equipment.
Group member Mr. Kapila Sumanapala laid the foundation stone to this project and handed over to the Group, which was then implemented and conducted by Rtd. Major General Adeepa Thilakaratne. The Group was able to collect Rs. 1.2 million for this project. The equipment were handed over to Dr. (Mrs.) Eranga Rajapakshe, Directress of Marawila Base Hospital at the hospital premises on 10th July 2021. Mr. Bimal Wijayasinghe, President – ACOBA, Mr. Lalith De Silva, President – 83 Group, Dr. Mahinda Mallawtantri, General Surgeon of Marawila Base Hospital and other representatives from the Group were also present at the handover ceremony.
