29 Jun Old Anandians’ 70 75 Group’s Blood Donation replaced with Donations to National Blood Bank and Ragama Hospital
Understanding the social responsibility in strengthening the healthcare sector in the country during the pandemic situation, Old Anandians’ 70-75 Group donated medical and non-medical amenities to the National Blood Transfusion Services – Narahenpita and Blood Bank – Colombo North Teaching Hospital, Ragama on 30th June and 1st July 2021 respectively.
The group has been organizing a blood donation campaign annually at College premises for the past 23 years continuously till 2019. However, continuation of this worthy and timely project got disturbed due to the prevailing Covid19 situation in the country thereafter. Hence, the Executive Committee of the 70-75 Group unanimously decided to make use of the budget allocation for this event for the years 2020 and 2021 to donate some required medical and non-medical amenities to Blood Banks Narahenpita and Ragama.
The President of Old Anandians’ 70-75 Group and some of the senior members visited the above places for the handover ceremonies to conclude this worthy cause.
