27 Jun Ananda College premiers වැලිපිල්ල, e-Magazine for Primary Students
In an era where online education is no longer an option, but a part of the new normal, the Primary Section of Ananda College introduced වැලිපිල්ල e-Magazine for primary students of the College to uncover talents of primary students.
The first volume of වැලිපිල්ල was launched on 27th June 2021 along with Poson Festival upon successful completion of Digital Vesak Ceremony for primary students. The primary section staff, lead by Mr. Randika Perera, Deputy Principal and Head Master in the Primary Section, successfully won the challenge of collecting over 1,200 articles related to various disciplines from both Sinhala and English medium, only within 25 days.
The articles received from student from grades 1 to 5, staff members and old boys have been segregated grade-wise and published on the වැලිපිල්ල e-magazine. වැලිපිල්ල is accessible using the following link: https://valipilla.anandacollege.edu.lk
The වැලිපිල්ල program is expected to give aesthetic and a humanitarian touch to online education. As there are Grade 1 students who had never worn the school uniform and all students have been able to come to school for over a year, this concept is expected to be taken as model by other schools too.
The e-Magazine concept for Primary Students, during the pandemic period to show up their talents, is the first in its kind among Sri Lankan schools.
