22 Jun අනඳ මනුදම් of Old Anandians’ Class of 2002 relieves 100 families in Borella
Considering the prevailing pandemic situation of the country and travel restrictions which were imposed in the second and third quarters of the year 2021, Old Anandians’ Class of 2002 decided to initiate its second CSR project under its signature අනඳ මනුදම්.
This project was phased out in a way the first phase is expected to assist its own batch mates who are being quarantined or locked in an isolated area due to the pandemic by supplying food and essential items, providing medical consultancy, and helping in finding quarantine centers.
As the second phase, hundred households were donated with food and dry rations with the guidance of Borella Police Station. These households, which were selected by the Community Police Unit of Borella, consisted of a set of families severely affected from the pandemic situation. Contributions for the said event were solely from the group members. The items were handed over to the families on 21st June 2021 by some of the EXCO members in 2002 batch.
As a set of well-nurtured citizens from the Buddhist philosophy, Anandians always believe in giving away what is in excess to those who are in need. The Class of 2002, with the blessings of ACOBA, demonstrated this true Anandian mindset through this project.
